The representation of the movie "The Dress" conquers L.A.! [UPDATED]
For the last few days the representation of our Oscar-nominated "The Dress" is in Los Angeles! The director and screenwriter of the movie, Tadeusz Łysiak, the actress playing the main role, Anna Dzieduszycka, and the campaign manager Veronica Andersson went overseas to promote our production to American audiences. Our creators also appeared at several prestigious film events.
On March 5, Tadeusz and Anna appeared at the American Cinema Editors Eddie Awards ceremony, which was held at the ACE Hotel. For the 72nd time, ACE awarded the best editing of cinema and TV productions.
The next day (6 March) our crew, accompanied by the director of the Polish Film Institute, Radosław Śmigulski, were guests of the 37th Independent Spirit Awards. The ceremony was held on the beach of Santa Monica.
Yesterday (March 7) our talented duo took part in the traditional Oscars Luncheon. Tadeusz and Anna meet face to face with the greatest stars of world cinema, who, like them, are competing for the most important film award.
It is important that our representatives have expressed their solidarity with the attacked Ukraine by wearing the symbolic blue-yellow ribbons in order to make the tragedy of our neighbour known to this very influential circle.
The representation of “The Dress” used this time to make very interesting acquaintances, which they captured in the photos.

On March 8, Tadeusz and Anna, accompanied by the campaign manager, Veronica Andersson, were guests of the 20th Annual VES Awards gala, an event that celebrates the achievements of visual effects artists from around the world.
On the same day “The Dress” had a special screening at the Malibu Film Society followed by a Q&A and an audience meeting with the director&writer and the main actress.
On March 19, Łysiak and Dzieduszycka participated in the 58th Cinema Audio Society (CAS) Awards, that honores the best achievements of the year in mixing film and television sound.
During their stay in L.A. the Polish Film Institute and Deadline Hollywood organized an event promoting the audiovisual production support system, the so-called "Incentives" among representatives of the American film industry. Our film crew could not be missing there. Director Tadeusz Łysiak, editor Mariusz Gos and actress Anna Dzieduszycka, accompanied by the manager of the Oscar campaign, Veronika Andersson, were greeted on the spot by the director of the Polish Film Institute, Radosław Śmigulski.

The team of "The Dress" also took part in the Holly Shorts Film Festival Oscars Nominees Brunch. The above-mentioned creators of our movie have been joined by the cinematographer, Konrad Bloch, and the production manager, Monika Ossowska.

TADEUSZ ŁYSIAK (script & directing) – born in 1993, graduate of Cultural Studies at the University of Warsaw, student of Directing at the Warsaw Film School. Creator of two award-winning short films in Poland and abroad: "Techno" (starring Leszek Abrahamowicz, Danuta Stenka, Michalina Olszańska) and "The Dress" (Anna Dzieduszycka, Dorota Pomykała, Szymon Piotr Warszawski). Participant of the prestigious program FUTURE FRAMES – Generation NEXT of European Cinema within Eastern Promises at the Karlovy Vary Festival. Winner of the "Discovering Eye" award for young talented filmmaker at the Polish Film Festival in Chicago.
KONRAD BLOCH (cinematography) – born in 1995, graduate of the Cinematography Department at the Warsaw Film School. Author of cinematography for several short films, music videos and social campaign Anja Rubik - #sexED. Nominated in 2018 for Golden Tadpole for the short movie „Techno“. In 2020 another short movies – " The Dress" – got him the Bronze Tadpole at Camerimage 2020 and the Heliograf company award at the 45th Polish Film Festival in Gdynia for the author of the best cinematography in the Short Film Competition and awarded for best cinematography at the 38th Sulmona Film Festival. Konrad is now preparing for his feature debut.
MARIUSZ GOS (editing) – born in 1992. Graduate of Film and Television Editing at the Warsaw Film School. As he says, "creating the world and the story, and connecting the threads is his passion". This has resulted in a number of award-winning short films, both abroad and in Poland, such as "The Dress", "Techno", "The Howling" and "Good Morning". That last one did not escape the attention of critics and was awarded in the "best editing" category at the G Biennale21 festival in Australia. Apart from short feature forms, he realizes himself in original music videos of the domestic scene made for such artists as Mela Koteluk & Kwadrofonik, Mata or Kukon. He is also familiar with the forms of social campaigns (including the famous "sexEd" with Anja Rubik), as well as TV programs and commercial projects.
VERONICA ANDERSSON (PR & campaign manager) – Was born in Stockholm, Sweden. She has appeared in Swedish feature films ( including “I love you” available on NETFLIX) and many commercials. Director and screenwriter of music videos and the films “Liberation”, “Wiki” and “Fuck, it ’s Biology”, which have been awarded many times in Poland and at international film festivals. She has received 18 individual awards, including in Los Angeles and Toronto. A graduate of Film Directing at the Warsaw Film School and political science, gender studies and social anthropology at the Faculty of Philosophy at Linköpings Universitet in Sweden, as well as Film Acting at Calle Flygare Teater Skola in Stockholm, Sweden. Jur y member in the “Short Film” category at the 2018 Script Fiesta, the biggest screenwriting festival in Poland. Lecturer at the Warsaw Film School in film directing at the international programs. One of the co - writers and co - directors of the full feature film “The Land”, which was distributed in cinemas, film festivals in 2021 and is now available world wide on NETFLIX. She has facilitated promotion strategies to filmmakers and distributed over fourty live action shorts and short documentary tiles to countless film festivals worldwide including to Academy Awards qualifying festivals.
